Repeat Prescriptions

Patients on long-term medication may be given repeat prescriptions using the computerised request form.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PHARMACIES ARE UNDER CONSIDERABLE STRAIN AT THE MOMENT.

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE NHS AT THIS TIME AND BE PATIENT.

IF YOUR PRESCRPTION IS NOT YET DUE PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST MORE THEN A WEEK BEFORE IT RUNS OUT.

Please allow FIVE working days for your prescription to be processed and sent to your pharmacy to be dispensed. Normally we do not accept requests for prescriptions over the telephone for safety reasons.

Please do not bring your request forms to the surgery or your pharmacy. If possible please request your medication on line using the above link. Alternatively use the NHS APP.

If your are not able to request in this way, you could try the following suggestions:

  • You can post your prescription request to us and tell us which pharmacy to send your prescription to.
  • Use E-consult to discuss/enquire about medication
  • If (and only if) all else fails then you email your request directly to our prescription clerk using this email address: fgccg.centrepracticescripts@nhs.net Please include your name, address and date of birth.

REPEAT DISPENSING

Whenever possible we will issue a 6 month supply of prescriptions to your pharmacy for "repeat dispensing". This means that the pharmacy can issue your medication at the usual frequency on repeat without you or them having to apply to us again for a prescription.

Please only go to the pharmacy when your next repeat is due. They will not issue medication early or "just in case".

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
